In this learning element students explore the settlement of Australia by British convicts and the impact of this for indigenous Australians. Students also consider what life was like during early settlement and what this means today. Students investigate Australia's European past with a focus on multimodal learning and visual literacy. Students also examine the values of freedom and fair go through investigating the impact Australia's convict past had on developing these values.
